Solid Waste

Solid Waste Haulers
There is no municipally administered solid waste collection service in Roseville. Residents are free to select from any solid waste hauler licensed to provide residential service in the city. The city is divided into zones. Solid waste and recycling pick up occur on the same day each week.

Roll-off and dumpster providers are licensed as commercial solid waste service.

Weekly recycling service is provided by Eureka Recycling.

Reduce Trash. Save Money.
Reduce the amount of waste you generate and save money by getting a smaller garbage cart from your hauler. Trash haulers are required to offer different size carts so get only the size you think you need. The smaller the cart, the less you will pay for trash collection.

Recycle All You Can.
Recycling is exempt from taxes. If you recycle more, you may be able to use a smaller garbage cart and increase your savings. To find out more about recycling, see Roseville's Recycling webpage or call 651-633-EASY (3279) answered 24/7. There are more items that can now be recycled including many types of plastics, metal cans, glass bottles and jars, and all types of paper.

Questions to Ask Your Hauler:

1. Where does my garbage go?
It is important to keep waste out of landfills. Haulers are required to inform their customers in writing each year where they take their waste for disposal. Waste can now go to a Resource Recovery Facility where it is processed into fuel to burn to produce electricity.

2. Are there additional charges I may see itemized on my bill?
Some haulers charge additional fees such as a fuel charge or environmental fee but do not include these in the rate you are quoted.

3. How do I get rid of extra items that do not fit in my cart and what will it cost me to get rid of items?
Call your hauler to check if they can pick it up from your curb, or take anytime to any of the transfer stations listed below. Please call ahead to check hours of operation and charges. Usually haulers require pre-payment for curbside pickup services. The City does offer two clean up day events a year also, with various charges for each item.
