With the snow finally melting and spring cleanup underway, what should you do with the old leaves? You can add them to the backyard compost bin, or Roseville residents can drop them off at the city’s leaf compost site.
The compost site is located on Dale Street, south of County Road C. The gate will be open for residents to drive their vehicles in to drop off leaves through Friday, May 4. Residents can drop off leaves other hours, by carrying them through the side gate. Only leaves are accepted at this location. Please dump your leaves and remove any bags.
Hours are:
- Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri - 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wed - 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Sat, Sun - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Free compost and wood chips will be available for residents to pick up from bins in front of the compost site, while supplies last. The nutrient rich compost boosts the soil and helps your garden. Wood chips make a great ground cover that reduces weeding, saves water, nourishes soil and reduces the need for chemical weed killers or herbicides.
Ramsey County's free yard waste sites are open year round. Drop off grass clippings, leaves and other soft-bodied plants. Brush and other woody materials are accepted at some sites. For locations and additional information, visit RamseyRecycles.com or call 651-633-3279 (EASY), answered 24/7.
