The City of Roseville is on track to become a Heart Safe City. Heart Safe cities help educate their communities about heart health. One step is to help businesses register their automated external defibrillator (AED).
The Roseville Fire Department is collaborating with Roseville’s Community Health Awareness Team (CHAT), Roseville Area Schools and the Roseville Area Senior program to educate and raise awareness about cardiac arrest and the importance of knowing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and having access to an AED.
The Heart Safe goal is to prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest by increasing community and public awareness, placing AEDs wherever people live, work and play, and educating the public on how to use AEDs and administer CPR.
The Roseville Fire Department encourages businesses to purchase and register AED equipment at www.cityofroseville.com/HeartSafe. Their goal is to create a database of AEDs in the community and develop an app for any bystander to locate the closest AED if needed in an emergency.
