Volunteers are needed for this year's 4th of July festivities at Central Park.
Firework path blockers – volunteers are needed to ensure park users do not go beyond the firework safety barriers. Paths will be well signed, however, a volunteer will be needed to ensure no one goes through the firework barriers. Volunteers will redirect park users. This position is fairly passive and volunteers are encouraged to bring a book, a comfortable lawn chair, and water. Volunteers will be stationed on paths in Central Park Victoria and will be supported by city staff.
Shift times and number of volunteers needed for Fireworks:
10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. – 2-3
12:00 - 1:30 p.m. – 3
1:30-3:00 p.m. – 2
3:00 - 5:00 p.m. – 2
5:00 - 6:30 p.m. – 2
6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – 3
8:00 - 10:30 p.m. – 3
Kids Carnival Game Volunteer – volunteers are needed to run simple kids carnival games. Volunteers will collect tickets and assist kids in playing a variety of carnival games such as pluck a duck, hoop shot, and hula hoop toss. Once the game is complete, the volunteer will award the participant with a prize! Volunteers will rotate through a couple of games and will be supported by city staff members. This is a great position for people who enjoy working with young families.
5:00 - 7:15 p.m. – 6 volunteers needed
