General Election Results

Roseville residents re-elected Dan Roe as Mayor and returned Bob Willmus to the City Council in Tuesday’s General Election. Residents also added a new face to the Council in Wayne Groff. Roe received 10,099 votes. He ran against City Councilmember Tammy McGehee, who received 7,115 votes. Groff, who currently serves on the city's Planning Commission, was the top vote-getter in the City Council race, receiving 8,511 votes. Willmus received 7,074 votes. Read more

Skate Those Calories Away

Planning to sneak an extra piece of pie this Thanksgiving? Can’t say no to stuffing? Go ahead and indulge, then forget the guilt and head over to the Guidant John Rose Minnesota OVAL to skate those extra calories away. On Thursday, November 22, the Minnesota OVAL will be open from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for open skating and hockey. Cost is $6.00 and skates are available to rent for $4.00. Spending time on the ice is a great way to cap off your Thanksgiving Day. Read more

Hands-Only CPR Class

Roseville firefighters are offering free, hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes at 6:30 p.m. each month. This month’s class will be on Wednesday, November 28. Classes meet at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave. Firefighters teach an easy-to-learn two-step, hands-only CPR process. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops and can no longer pump blood to the brain or vital organs. Read more

Shop with a Cop

The Roseville Police Department will host its annual Shop with a Cop event on Wednesday, December 5. Shop with a Cop helps build positive relationships between officers and the families they serve. Holidays can be stressful for those dealing with challenges. Shop with a Cop aims to lessen that tension by providing a fun-filled evening of holiday shopping. Each year, Roseville officers are paired with kids to go on a shopping spree courtesy of a grant from Roseville Target. Read more

Keeping Roseville Beautiful

Keeping Roseville beautiful is a team effort. Public Works crews have already swept the city three times in 2018 and plan to make a final pass before the snow flies. Crews pay special attention to Roseville’s environmentally sensitive areas in the Lake McCarrons watershed, as well as around Lake Owasso, Lake Josephine, Lake Johanna and Langton Lake. They also put in extra time clearing catch basins. However, Public Works staff can’t do it alone. Read more

CHAT: Medicare Changes

Major changes are coming to Medicare in 2019 that may affect coverage. Join Roseville’s Community Health Awareness Team (CHAT) on Thursday, November 8 for a presentation about the changes. Elder law attorney Brenna Galvin will discuss the program’s latest updates and their impacts on seniors from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Ramsey County Library in Roseville (2180 Hamline Ave. N.). The Minnesota Board on Aging will also be on hand to provide information. Read more

Community Foundation Funds

The Roseville Community Foundation invites organizations to apply for up to $2,500 in grant money. The Community Foundation is financed by Roseville’s share of profits from businesses that operate charitable gambling in the city. This quarter’s applications are due by December 1.The mission of the foundation is to administer charitable funds to enhance the physical, emotional, cultural and intellectual life of the Roseville area.
