13th Annual Citizen Police Academy
Now Accepting Applications
Ever wondered what happens when you call 9-1-1, what to do if you are stopped by police, or how much training K-9 officers go through? These are just a few of the questions answered during the Roseville Police Department's Annual Citizen Police Academy.
The purpose of the Citizens' Academy is to facilitate understanding between citizens and police. It's an opportunity to acquaint citizens with the role of law enforcement, providing an inside look at the tasks police officers face daily. The Department hopes increased understanding will strengthen the partnership between police and citizens and assist in finding realistic solutions to safety issues and concerns.
Participants will take part in hands-on activities and learn about class topics including police use of force, criminal investigations, emergency communications, drug task force, SWAT, K-9, and identity theft.
The first class will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 6:30 pm; thereafter, classes will be held Wednesday evenings for seven weeks from 6:30–9:30 pm thru April 21, 2010. The Academy will be held in City Hall.
Apply early as space is limited and the Academy always fills up! Call 651-792-7209 or fill out the online Citizens Academy Application. The program is open to persons 18 yrs of age or older. We hope to see you in March!
