The Roseville Skating School is under the direction of the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department and is run in accordance with the ISI (Ice Skating Institute). We are dedicated to
Our tot and beginner classes introduce children to the fundamentals of ice skating in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. To help make sure your skater is prepared and can have an enjoyable experience please read the recommendations.
ISI Instructional Program
The ISI instructional program has a logical progression of skill development, whereby skills learned in each level build on skills achieved in the preceding level. It appeals to first-time skaters because it teaches skills they can master almost immediately.
Attractive ISI patches are awarded to recognize skaters’ achievements.
Yearly Sessions
Fall
: Fall is a perfect time to learn or practice your skating skills before everything turns to ice outside. Classes meet fromWinter/Spring
: Participants have the chance to be a part of our annual ice show. The session meets from the beginning of December through April with the Ice Show being held at the end of April.Summer
: Summer is a great time to learn to skate or build your skating fundamentals. Classes meet from the middle of June through the middle of August.Daytime
: Daytime skating classes are also available throughout the year. This program offers skating lessons for pre-school and home-schooled children. Each session is 30 minutes with an additional 30 minutes of practice time.Skates
Skaters can use figure skates or hockey skates. Blades must be made of steel (not aluminum). Double runner skates are NOT allowed. We do offer rental skates at a price of $3 a class.

Roseville Area Youth Hockey Association
RAYHA is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors that works to provide area youth the opportunity to participate in ice hockey. Various programs, teams and options available.

Adult Open Hockey
Adult Open Hockey at RSC provides those 18+ the opportunity to participate in open pick-up hockey games. Various dates and times available throughout the year. See public schedule for specifics. Open Hockey- OVAL
During the Guidant John Rose MN OVAL season (November - March), we offer general open hockey for those looking to play pick-up games or simply shoot pucks. No sign-up required. Available during most OVAL Public Skating sessions.
The Oval offers skating opportunities for ALL ages and abilities in conjunction with Roseville Parks & Recreation and the Greater MN Speedskating Association. Open public speedskating, intro programs and clubs are all available for people to become involved.
LTSS Program is an entry-level speed skating program offered through Roseville Parks and Recreation. The program is open to all metro-area skaters, ages 8 through adult. The main goal of the program is to learn proper skating techniques and develop skills to be able to participate in this life-long sport.

GMSA represents speed skating in MN , ND, SD and parts of western WI. GMSA is a non-profit organization whose primary activity is the promotion and education of speedskating in the region. Organization is responsible for securing ice time and officials for regional and national meets and addressing the needs of the various speedskating clubs who practice and compete on ice throughout the state. LTSS Program is an entry-level speed skating program offered through Roseville Parks and Recreation. The program is open to all metro-area skaters, ages 8 through adult. The Guidant John Rose MN OVAL is home to multiple leagues, including an adult rec bandy league, American Bandy Association, USA Men's & Women's Bandy Teams.
Bandy is played on an ice surface the size of a soccer field. Best described as field hockey on skates. Each team is made up of 11 players, including a goalie- aim of bandy is to score goals by hitting an orange ball into the opposing team's net using a curved stick (4-feet in length).
If you are looking for something different from hockey and love to skate, come join adult rec bandy league! This is a great alternative to hockey, is a non-checking game. Season runs November - March on Sunday afternoons. Click here for more information about Adult Rec Bandy League.

Bandy is played on an ice surface the size of a soccer field. Best described as field hockey on skates. Each team is made up of 11 players, including a goalie- aim of bandy is to score goals by hitting an orange ball into the opposing team's net using a curved stick (4-feet in length).

Summer OVAL Skate Park & Inline Skating
The OVAL hosts an aggressive skate park and inline skaters from May through September. Equipment includes launch ramps, quarter pipes, spines, vert ramps, rails, half pipe and more! Inline skaters are welcome to utilize the OVAL track for inline blading- as it provides a safe and smooth surface. The skate park & inline track is open to the public and FREE to use.

Skateboard Camp
Instructors from 3rd Lair Demo Team invite beginner and intermediate skateboarders ages 6 to 14 to sign up to learn techniques and enhance their skateboarding skills. Camps offered June - August. Click here for more information.
Youth Inline Skate Camp
In collaboration with Greater MN Speedskating Association, youth ages 6-13 are invited to join us for a week of inline skating! All levels welcome. Click here for more information.
Summer Inline Skate Series - Hosted by GMSA
Events run Wednesday evenings, 6pm - 8pm, June - August. Proficient skaters of all ages are welcome. Racing is free of charge; helmet required, wrist guards and sliders recommended.
