Meeting Minutes

Commissioners Present:
Chairperson Zoe Jenkins, Recording Secretary Brad VanderVegt, Commissioner Don Drackert

Others Present:

      Chief Rick Mathwig

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jenkins at 2:00PM. 

2.

The Agenda for today?s meeting was reviewed and approved as submitted.

3.

The minutes of the May 8, 2012, meeting were reviewed and unanimously approved.

4.

Chief Mathwig discussed the need to create an updated candidates list due to the discharge of one of the department?s most recent hires and the need to fill the position expeditiously. The Chief recommends returning to the external hiring process last approved by the commission on November 21, 2001. The process will consist of two successive panel interviews and conclude with the Chiefs panel. Commissioners? were invited to observe the process. The motion to approve the external hiring process as defined by Chief Mathwig was approved unanimously by the commission.

The commission reviewed the Rosenberg?s Rules of Order and they were duly adopted.

6.

The commission reviewed and duly recognized and acknowledged the City of Roseville?s ?An Ordinance Amending Establishment of Boards and Commissions? specifically Chapter 202 Police Civil Service Commission.

7.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2:35PM.
