Meeting Minutes

Commissioners Present:
Chairperson Brad VanderVegt, Commissioner Janet Henquinet, and Recording Secretary Zoe Jenkins

Others Present:

      Chief Rick Mathwig

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson VanderVegt at 1:15PM. 

2.

The Agenda for today's meeting was reviewed and approved.

3.

Commissioner Brad VanderVegt was sworn in as a member of the commission.  Commissioner VanderVegt will remain chairperson of the commission as determined by acclamation.

4.

The minutes of the February 3, 2015 meeting were approved.

5.

Chief Mathwig described a new video testing process for hiring police officers.  This video is designed to provide realistic situations and events requiring the candidates to describe how they would handle such a situation/event.  The video will replace the current written test.  The interviews and Chief's panel will remain the same.  The video testing process was certified by the Commission.

6.

Chief Mathwig reviewed the 2013 Sergeant Promotional Process.  A sergeant has retired and the promotional process will begin in the Spring of 2015.

7.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 1:40PM.
