[ARCHIVED] Take Care of Your Dog

This time every year, Roseville gets an earful about barking dogs. As the weather warms up, residents are opening windows and spending more time outdoors. Dogs spend more time outdoors too, and the mix can lead to a noisy situation.

If a barking dog in your neighborhood is causing a disturbance, Roseville Police encourage you to talk with the pet owner. They may not be aware that the dog is disturbing you. If that does not work, residents can call 651-767-0640 and file a complaint with the police. If deemed necessary, the officer may impound the animal immediately to stop the nuisance, and the pet owner could be fined.

Dogs are welcome in all Roseville parks as long as they are on leashes and owners clean up after them. Dogs without leashes are welcome at the Ramsey County Open Space located just north of Larpenteur and east of Dale Street. The dog park has two soft trail areas. The area to the left of the park entrance is fenced in and is handicap accessible so anyone with limited mobility and his or her dogs can enjoy the park too.

Please clean up after your pet. City code requires pet owners to clean up and properly dispose of all messes left by pets when off the owner’s private property. Animal feces can contaminate City lakes. Be a responsible pet owner and clean up after your pet.

If you see a stray animal, contact Roseville Animal Control at 651-767-0640. Stray pets whose owners cannot be reached are taken to the Brighton Vet Clinic. Animals are kept for 7 to 10 days. Call 651-636-1063 if you think your pet may have been taken to the clinic.
