How long is a permit valid?

Permits issued for an addition or improvement to a single family residence and for accessory buildings are valid for a period of 180 days from the date of issuance (provided construction has begun within 90 days of issuance) with the exception of electrical permits, which are valid for 1 year from the date of issuance.
