Pascal Street Pilot Project

The City of Roseville is testing a pilot project on Pascal Street near Keya Park to improve safety for people walking, biking, and driving.

The City of Roseville is testing a pilot project on Pascal Street near Keya Park to improve safety for people walking, biking, and driving.

This temporary project will use short plastic posts (delineators) to show where new curbs could be placed if the roadway were narrowed in the future. Narrowing the street can help drivers travel at safer speeds and make it easier for everyone to see one another near the park as the pedestrians have their own dedicated space.  If the road was permanently narrowed with curb in the future, a sidewalk would be added behind the curb from Brooks Street into Keya Park to provide dedicated pedestrian access.

Why Is This Project Happening?

Residents and City staff have identified safety concerns related to limited visibility near Keya Park. The goal of this pilot project is to test how a narrower roadway might influence vehicle speeds, improve stopping sight distances, and enhance comfort for pedestrians walking to and from the park, before any permanent changes are made.

What to Expect

Temporary delineators will be installed along Pascal Street near Keya Park to show where new curbs could go. The pilot project will last about six weeks, depending on weather conditions. During this time, the street will remain open to traffic, but it will feel narrower in the test area. Drivers are encouraged to travel carefully and follow all posted signs. City staff will monitor traffic behavior and overall safety during the pilot period. Observations and neighborhood feedback will help determine if this type of roadway design should be considered for a future, permanent project.

We Want Your Feedback!

Community input is a key part of this process. If you live nearby, walk to the park, or drive through the area, we’d like to hear your thoughts and experiences during the pilot.

Share your feedback by contacting the Engineering Department at engineering@cityofroseville.com. Your comments will help the City evaluate whether permanent changes could make this area safer and more comfortable for everyone.
