Only leaves are accepted at this location. Please dump your leaves and remove any bags. The compost site, on Dale Street, south of County Road C, is open to residents from April 1 to May 13.
Hours are:
• Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Wed 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Sat 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Sun 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Residents can pick up free compost and wood chips from the bins in front of the compost site. The nutrient rich compost boosts your soil and helps your garden grow. Wood chips make a great ground cover that reduces weeding, saves water, nourishes soil and reduces the need for chemical weed killers or herbicides.
Ramsey County's free yard waste sites also open April 1. Drop off grass clippings, leaves and other soft-bodied plants. Brush and other woody materials are accepted at some sites. Log on to www.co.ramsey.mn.us/ph/hy/index.htm or call 651-633-3279 for directions or additional information.
Garbage haulers in Roseville provide brush and yard waste service, but they can charge a fee. Call your hauler for rates. Because of the Emerald Ash Borer quarantine, some trash haulers no longer offer tree waste collection as part of their service.
Ash trees, limbs, branches, logs or untreated ash lumber with the bark attached, cannot move outside of Ramsey or Hennepin counties. Residents can hire a commercial tree or yard cleanup service to collect their tree waste, or they can bring tree waste to a Ramsey County yard waste site.
