Hazardous waste, including any products labeled poisonous, flammable or corrosive, fluorescent and mercury vapor lamps, mercury thermostats and switches, old gasoline, paint and lead paint chips, solvents, pesticides, antifreeze and motor oil and filters can be disposed of for free.

You can reduce the amount of household hazardous waste you generate. Read labels and choose less hazardous products when possible. Buy only as much as you need. If you have extra, give leftovers (except pesticide) to a friend to use. Visit rethinkrecycling.com/ for more tips on reducing household hazardous waste.
