Namaste Brows & Boutique Owner Wants Clients to Feel Beautiful Inside and Out

Namaste Brows & Boutique Owner Wants Clients to Feel Beautiful Inside and Out

With an expert twist of a cotton thread, Jeena Gurung Vomhof can tame the most unruly eyebrows into sleek arches that frame the eyes and brighten the entire face.

Gurung Vomhof is the owner of Namaste Brows & Boutique, which specializes in all-natural eyebrow shaping as well as eyebrow tinting and facial hair removal. Her boutique in the Lexington Plaza Shoppes, 1718B Lexington Ave. N., also features earrings and accessories that she personally curates with handmade items from her birth country of Nepal.

Gurung Vomhof uses a hair removal technique called threading, a centuries-old beauty treatment that originated in Asia. The twisting motion of the thread removes hairs quickly and precisely and does not irritate the skin. In addition to brows, she also provides services to remove facial hair from the lip, chin and neck.

Threading has gained popularity in the United States because it removes hair at the follicle with no chemicals required, Gurung Vomhof said. Beautifully sculpted brows are also having a moment as social media beauty influencers are playing up their impact on beauty and grooming routines.

“I am privileged to help my customers to feel beautiful and confident, inside and out” says Gurung Vomhof. “When customers say I have an important Zoom meeting or I am going out for a date and they choose Namaste Brows & Boutique, I feel humbled.”

Gurung Vomhof, a Roseville resident, left a successful career in healthcare administration to open her studio in January 2022.

In 2011, Gurung Vomhof immigrated to the United States on a diversity immigrant visa. She said it was like winning the lottery. She left a successful career in hospital administration in Nepal and reinvented herself in Minnesota. She became a certified nursing assistant working in Roseville nursing homes and for hospice programs. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Bethel University and again found herself in health care administration working for assisted living and nursing homes in Roseville. She married a “Roseville guy” and they purchased a home here and have two children, Grace, 5, and Nirvaan, 2.Jeena Gurung Vomhof with earrings that she sells from Nepal.

She loved having a career helping others but she longed to spend more time with her husband and her children. Her sister urged her to open Namaste Brows and she knew it had to be in Roseville.

“For me, Roseville is home,” Gurung Vomhof said.

The boutique opened in January 2022. She said she focused on providing a beautiful experience for her clients as well as beautiful results. Her studio is bright and welcoming with vibrant teal accents. She has calming music in the background and she greets clients with a warm smile.

“I like people. My priority is always how can I help people in different ways?” Gurung Vomhof said.

“I love to talk. I love to connect. Relationships are very, very important to me.”

She said about half her customers are familiar with threading and travel from around the Twin Cities including Maple Grove, Blaine and even Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin for regular services. The other half walk in curious to try the process. I take it as a challenge in a positive way,” Gurung Vomhof said. “I enjoy giving that education.”

This article was published in the March/April edition of Roseville City News. Since then, Jeena Gurung Vomhof was appointed to the City of Roseville's Human Rights, Inclusion and Engagement Commission.
