The spring cleanup is about to begin, but what to do with the old leaves? You can add them to the backyard compost bin, or Roseville residents can drop them off at the city’s leaf compost site.
The compost site is located on Dale Street, south of County Road C, and is open to residents from March 28 to May 5. Only leaves are accepted at this location. Please dump your leaves and remove any bags.
Hours are:
- Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Wed: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Sat, Sun: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Residents can pick up free compost and wood chips from bins in front of the compost site. The nutrient rich compost boosts the soil and helps your garden. Wood chips make a great ground cover that reduces weeding, saves water, nourishes soil and reduces the need for chemical weed killers or herbicides.
Ramsey County's free yard waste sites are open year round. Drop off grass clippings, leaves and other soft-bodied plants. Brush and other woody materials are accepted at some sites. For locations and additional information, visit RamseyRecycles.com or call 651-633-3279 (EASY), answered 24/7.
