What can you do to improve and protect water resources in our community? The City of Roseville and the Rice Creek Watershed District invite you to learn what it takes to become a certified Master Water Steward.
Join us for one of three information sessions:
• August 14 at Harriet Alexander Nature Center, 2520 Dale St., Roseville
• August 28 at Washington Conservation District, 455 Hayward Ave. N, Oakdale
• September 4 at Freshwater Society, 2424 W Territorial Road, St Paul
Stewards receive 50 hours of online, in-person and hands-on training. They learn about watersheds, stormwater management, water policies, strategies for engaging others in water protection activities, and landscaping practices to reduce runoff pollution. Grant funding is available for participants to complete a capstone project, such as a rain garden, shoreline planting or community outreach project, that is required to become a Master Water Steward.
After being certified, Master Water Stewards must provide 25 hours per year of volunteer support to their local watershed organization.
