The Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) is excited to welcome back visitors. Beginning September 12, HANC’s building will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The nature center building will be open for a limited number of visitors at a time. Guests waiting to enter the nature center building can explore trails and a boardwalk the circulate throughout more than 50 acres of marsh, prairie and grasslands.
Visitors will be welcome in the main level and can explore the exhibit area and classroom and touch and play with specified items. High touch areas will be cleaned regularly and used toys will be separated and cleaned before being returned for use. The restrooms will be open and cleaned regularly. The drinking fountain, lower level and library will remain closed at this time
The nature center will follow strict safety protocols to ensure the safety of guests, volunteers and staff. All adults and children 5 years and older who enter the building, including staff and volunteers, are required to wear masks while inside. Visitors will be required to sign a contact sheet in case contact tracing is needed because of possible COVID-19 exposure.
Visitors experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or who have had contact with someone with COVID-19 are prohibited from visiting HANC until symptoms are cleared or the 14-day quarantine time has been passed.
All Roseville Parks and Recreation programs have been planned, developed and conducted following the Center for Disease Control and MDH guidelines for Social Distancing in Recreational Programs. There is some risk of participating in any activity during the pandemic. Even though we are working to provide as safe of an environment as possible, 100% mitigation cannot be guaranteed.
