As if by magic, sap flows from a tree and is turned into a luscious springtime treat. Roseville Parks and Recreation invites you to Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) to learn the secret of making maple syrup.
Join us on Saturday, March 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Sunday, March 21 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at HANC, 2520 North Dale St. for an all-outdoor, hands-on experience tapping trees and learning how the sap is prepared. You can also go on a maple tree hike, taste maple popcorn and get a recipe for a maple treat. No charge for this family-friendly outing. Open to all ages.
Participants will be required to wear masks and follow appropriate social distancing. There may be a short wait to enter the program area. Maple products and syrup tasting will be available from the Faxon Farms booth while waiting.
The Nature Center provides protection for birds and other animal and plant life and educational opportunities for people of all ages. Enjoy an escape into nature on walking trails that meander through 52 acres of marsh, prairie and forest habitats. Visit www.cityofroseville.com/hanc or call 651-765-4262 for more information.
