Following the Philando Castile shooting in a neighboring community in July, several residents raised questions about the shooting and whether such an event could happen in Roseville. Residents asked what we as a city, and we as individuals, could do to keep all residents safe.
This is the first in a series of discussions to ensure Roseville is a community where people make connections with each other amidst changing demographics. The gathering will start with a small panel of Roseville residents sharing their reaction to the shooting in Falcon Heights, followed by Police Chief Rick Mathwig sharing information about Roseville’s police policies
Then participants will be able to talk among themselves about the Philando Castile shooting and what we can do as individuals and as a community. The evening will end with a question and answer session with the panel and city representatives.
We want to hear from all residents. Please join us at the Roseville Skating Center, 2661 Civic Center Drive, on Tuesday, October 4 at 6:30 p.m. The discussion will begin at 7:00. Refreshments will be provided
Registration is requested. Email carolyn.curti@cityofroseville.com or call 651-792-7026 to register.
