Volunteer and get your hands dirty. Roseville is seeking big-hearted volunteers to plant, weed, mulch, water and so much more at the edible orchard and the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum.
Even if your thumbs aren’t so green, you can help. Whether you can donate an hour or are looking for an ongoing volunteer opportunity, we’ll find something for you to do. Volunteers can work alongside staff on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or volunteers can work independently evening or weekends.
The Muriel Sahlin Arboretum, located at 2525 Dale St., offers a serene setting to enjoy beautiful gardens and grounds, walkways, water fountain, and architectural features. Visitors can also explore ideas for their own landscapes. Many of the trees and shrubs are native Minnesota species.
The edible orchard, located next to the arboretum, includes more than 100 fruit-bearing trees and shrubs. It provides an opportunity for community members to learn how to grow, harvest and preserve fresh produce. The fruits and vegetables that are harvested are made available to the community or donated to local food shelves.
If you are interested in learning more or to volunteer, contact Kelly O’Brien at 651-792-7028 or kelly.obrien@cityofroseville.com.
Thanks for helping make Roseville such a beautiful place to live, work and play.
