The City is deconstructing a house at 196 S. McCarrons Blvd and taking an innovative approach that both protects the environment and provides valuable employment to a traditionally underemployed population to do so.
Earlier this year, Roseville purchased the 1900-era home through the City's Housing Replacement Program. The City then partnered with Better Futures to deconstruct the house, pulling it apart piece by piece and salvaging items for resale, keeping them from landfills.
Better Futures hires men who have been in trouble with the law, providing on-the-job training for individuals who may have difficulty finding employment.
