Residents at Roseville Estates can sleep a little easier. Thanks to Roseville Fire Department, Roseville Estates management and the Red Cross, residents are being offered a free fire safety check.
Over the past week, Roseville firefighters knocked on 104 doors, conducted 54 safety checks, installed 33 smoke detectors and changed 18 smoke detector batteries at the manufactured home park. They also provided residents with fire safety information.
The City of Roseville is working with the Red Cross Fire Campaign to get more working smoke detectors into homes and to get families to make a plan for what to do in case of a fire.
Roseville Estates management supported the initiative. Residents received a letter telling them about the visits and were encouraged, but not pressured, to participate in the free home safety check. If no one is home, firefighters left information offering to return another time.
