Please join the City of Roseville at City Hall on Thursday, January 10, at 4:00 p.m. as the Police Department recognizes Roseville police officers for their outstanding police work in the past year.
Three officers will receive Lifesaving Awards for saving a woman’s life, and one officer will receive an Award of Merit. Awards of Merit are given to officers for outstanding performance of duty under unusual or difficult conditions. These acts involve protection of life or property and unusual thoroughness, conscientiousness, determination and initiative.
Thirty officers and two administrative staff will receive Unit Citations. Unit Citations are awarded for exceptional police work or accomplishments that involve personal danger or adverse conditions. This award recognizes teamwork by two or more officers.
Officer Boua Chang will receive Traffic Wings for his efforts in accident reduction through traffic enforcement.
Officer Mitch Christensen will receive the Eric Christensen Leadership Award. This award is given to an officer who distinguishes him or herself by superior accomplishments or continuing long-term professional involvement using leadership skills, which make a significant contribution to the Roseville Police Department and its law enforcement mission. Mitch Christensen is the son of Sgt. Christensen, a 16-year member of the Roseville Police Department. In November 2006, Sgt. Christensen lost his life to cancer.
In addition to the police officers who will be recognized, several private citizens will receive Certificates of Appreciation for their quick action, willingness to get involved, attention to detail and support for police efforts in the city.
The awards ceremony will be at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. The community is invited to celebrate their accomplishments.
