Two residents have been named to Met Council advisory positions. Mayor Dan Roe has been appointed to the Land Use Advisory Committee and Jeremy Peichel was appointed to the Commission on Parks and Open Space.
The Land Use Advisory Committee provides advice and assistance to the Metropolitan Council on regional land use and comprehensive planning and in matters of metropolitan significance as defined by state law.
Roe, who was elected to his third four-year term as Roseville’s mayor last November, will be one of 18 members on the committee. Committee members represent each Metropolitan Council district and include a mix of local elected officials and residents.
Peichel is the founder/owner of Civic Intelligence LLC, which providing technical assistance to local governments with policy analysis, spatial analysis and statistical assessment and modeling. He has also worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
The Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission advises the Council on matters related to the regional parks and trails system. The commission’s nine members serve staggered four-year terms and include eight district representatives and a chair who represents the region at large. All commission positions are appointed by the Met Council.
