Kids, join us in the garden. Parks and Recreation invites kids ages 8-12 to a hands-on gardening adventure. In Backyard Bounty classes, you’ll plant a garden, care for the plants and harvest its bounty.
Participants will learn what's in soil, which animals can help in a garden and how plants grow. You will also enjoy fun experiments and creative craft projects. You’ll play games and prepare and taste foods with your homegrown produce.
Classes meet on Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum, 2525 Dale St. Kids can enroll in a five-week session, either June 13-July 18 (no class July 4) or July 25-August 22 or enroll in the full 10-week session from June 13-August 22.
