The City of Roseville is now a Step 3 City in the Minnesota GreenStep Cities program. Roseville received the award at the League of Minnesota Cities annual conference for continuing to implement best practices.
The City of Roseville has worked hard to apply best practices to fulfill sustainability goals, including work on a complete (living) streets program, a sustainable purchasing policy and extreme weather preparedness. Additionally, the city recently completed installation of four solar arrays atop three buildings at the City Hall campus that are now feeding clean energy to the power grid and reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
Minnesota GreenStep Cities is a challenge, assistance and recognition program. As one of 127 participating cities and tribal nations, the City of Roseville is helping to lead the way in sustainably across Minnesota.
Actions that are taken within the program focus on cost savings, energy use reduction, resource conservation, and the encouragement of civic innovation. You can learn more about Roseville’s efforts at mngreenstep.org.
