It takes up to eight hours to plow the city following a four-inch snowfall, and the more snow that falls, the longer it takes.

Roseville’s snowplow operators remind drivers of the guidelines so they can plow quickly and efficiently.

• When two inches of snow has accumulated a parking ban goes into effect and parking is prohibited on all city streets. Sign up to receive showplow alerts. Click the Alert – Snowplows link to receive a text or email notice when snowplows are about to roll.
• Stay at least four car lengths behind a snowplow. Plows can create dangerous snow clouds and can throw chunks of snow, ice and debris.
• Do not pass a snowplow on the right. Snowplows push snow and spread ice control to the right.
• Do not put trashcans or recycling bins in the street. Snowplow drivers cannot stop or drive around the bins, and bins could end up down the street.
• Do not allow children to play in the streets or build tunnels in snow banks along streets and driveways.
