Roseville City Manager Patrick Trudgeon has introduced veteran public finance professional Michelle Pietrick as the city’s new Finance Director. Pietrick comes to Roseville from the City of South St. Paul.
Pietrick replaces Chris Miller, who left the position to become Executive Director at LOGIS last fall.
Pietrick brings a wealth of municipal finance experience to her new post with Roseville, including stops as Finance Director with St. Croix County, Senior Budget Analyst at the Minneapolis Community Development Agency (MCDA), and Local Government Auditor with the Office of the State Auditor.
For the last seven years, Pietrick served as the Finance Director for the City of South St. Paul.
“Michelle is a talented, seasoned professional who possesses a wide range of experience in finance and municipal budgeting,” Trudgeon said. “Her background, experience and vison make her a great fit for this role and I am looking forward to her leadership serving the organization and the community.”
Pietrick will be responsible for coordinating the strategic development of the City of Roseville’s budget and capital improvement plan. She will also oversee the city’s investment and debt management, develop and implement financial policies and manage the finance department’s staff.
As Finance Director, Pietrick will supervise Roseville’s busy license and passport centers and work closely with the Community Development Department to manage the city’s six Tax Increment Finance (TIF) districts.
A Roseville resident, Pietrick is a past President of the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and served on the executive board of the organization from 2014-19.
Pietrick earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. Cloud State University. She also possesses a master’s degree in public administration and is a Certified Public Finance Officer and Certified Public Accountant.
