Roseville Public Works continues to up its commitment to sustainability. The department recently acquired its first hybrid vehicle, a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle).
The vehicle is being used by the Utility Superintendent and can be recharged by plugging it into an external source of electric power, as well as by its on-board engine and generator. It primarily performs as a pure electric vehicle unless the battery gets low or extra power is needed, then its on-board engine kicks in. It has fuel tank capacity of 11 gallons and gets an overall combined range of about 300 miles depending, on driving conditions.
