Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of people, the Roseville Fire Department collected more than 2,400 masks for distribution throughout the community. Roseville firefighters said most donors dropped off many masks.
The Roseville Fire Department took part in a statewide effort on Saturday, April 25, to collect homemade masks for distribution. Fire stations across the state collected masks to be used to stop the spread of COVID-19. The masks collected in Roseville will be distributed to workers at congregate care facilities and to high-density apartment tenants.
Firefighters will continue to collect masks in the front vestibule of the fire station located at 2701 Lexington Ave. A bin is available to drop off masks. All masks are washed and then donated to at-risk populations.
The City of Roseville is grateful for all the volunteers who are helping make masks.
