The weeks leading up to the season of gift giving can be a fun-filled time of year. But if a family is worried about paying for presents, it can also be a time of stress.
That is why the Roseville Police Department is stepping in to help a few families who are experiencing a tough holiday season.
On Wednesday, December 3, Roseville police officers and more than a dozen Roseville youth will take part in the Shop with a Cop program. Officers will take area youngsters shopping for gifts for their family members. They’ll then return to City Hall to wrap the presents and share some holiday cheer.
This annual event is funded, in part, through donations from Target Corporation, Roseville Police Foundation, and private gifts. Funds support families who have been victims of domestic violence. Since its start in 2005, Shop with a Cop has helped more than 130 children and their families in Roseville.
