Are you crazy about the weather? Is your television always tuned to the weather channel? Or are you concerned about whether you’ll make it to work or not? Weather watchers, we’ve got a fun project for you.
Roseville is looking for volunteer weather watchers to monitor snowfall amounts and report the information to the National Weather Service.
In Roseville snowplows start rolling after two inches of snow has fallen, but getting accurate readings of snowfall can be problematic. The National Weather Service relies on volunteers to report snowfall amounts during snow events. Currently there are no weather watcher volunteers in Roseville so weather updates could be delayed, and that could delay when snowplows hit the streets.
Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Kelly O’Brien at kelly.obrien@ci.roseville.mn.us or 651-792-7028 if you are interested in becoming a weather watcher volunteer. The National Weather Service provides training.
