On Saturday, August 1, Roseville firefighters will battle a fire, and they invite you to watch. Firefighters will conduct a live fire training at 311 County Road B. The training session will begin around 7:00 a.m. and will end by 1:00 p.m.
Currently a private home is located at the address. The home is being razed, and the homeowner has agreed to allow the City to burn it so firefighters can get hands-on experience in a real, but controlled, fire situation.
This will be a great opportunity to see the Roseville Fire Department at work, strengthening their techniques and skills to better protect the community. Visitors are welcome to take pictures and ask questions of personnel at the drills, but please respect the dangers that fire can cause and stay within designated areas. Parking will be available on Farrington Street and William Street.
Roseville Firefighters are very active with training, and live fire training is one of their biggest and best training opportunities to hone their skills. Access to Farrington Street from County Rd B will be closed due to fire hydrant access. Contact Fire Battalion Chief David Brosnahan at 651-775-3572 if you have questions.
